Imagine a welcoming golf club in Sussex with beautiful surroundings, strong facilities and an active events calendar. The club has invested time in attracting more women and introducing beginners to golf. Yet it finds that attracting participants is only part of the challenge: some women struggle to feel connected, progress beyond their first experiences or see a long-term place for themselves at the club.
The club wants to understand why.
Equity Golf Collective works with the club to explore women’s experiences, listen to relevant perspectives and assess the practices and conditions that may be affecting participation and retention.
Rather than recommending generic initiatives, EGC develops a tailored plan that identifies priorities, practical actions and areas where the club could focus its time and resources.
The club can then work towards improvements that better reflect women’s needs, strengthen the member experience and create stronger conditions for sustained participation and membership retention.
The journey does not end with a report. It begins with understanding the problem and identifying what to do next.
