Our story

One woman felt she didn’t belong at a golf club.

Like many women entering the sport, I found myself navigating spaces where I was often in the minority. There were moments of uncertainty, discomfort and moments when it would have been easier to walk away.

But I stayed.

Through my own experiences, I began to recognise that many of the challenges women face in golf are not always obvious. They can exist within club culture, communication, policies, programmes and the small details that shape whether someone feels welcomed or excluded.

That experience led me to ask a bigger question: what would golf look like if equality of opportunity was considered not only through access, but through people’s experiences of belonging and participation?

Equity Golf Collective was born from that question.

Today, we work with golf clubs to understand the experiences of women and girls, identify barriers to participation, and turn research and insight into practical action — helping create golf environments where people can feel that they belong from day one.
